Claus Fischer (1962)
Claus Fischer has two decades of experience in the airline industry. After an apprenticeship in banking and studies of business administration (University of Bayreuth) he worked for various airlines during the period 1990 through 2007.
Without exception the focus of his activities was on airlines with a need for rehabilitation and low capital resources, whereby the rehabilitation and repositioning was successfully achieved in each case.
Apart from the fact that acceptance of responsibility is always part of the full palette of commercial activities, Claus Fischer is an expert in the field of network planning, yield management/pricing, IT platforms and e-commerce.
At the moment Claus Fischer is acting Chief Commercial Officer at Olympic Air.
In the year 2007 he was responsible for the successful start-up of nas air, the first Saudi-Arabian LCC, in his capacity as Chief Commercial Officer.
Prior to this he was with dba as Commercial Director and authorized signatory from the privatization in 2003 until its sale to Air Berlin in 2006. He was responsible for network planning, pricing, yield management, e-commerce, and local distribution.
Before he was with Augsburg Airways (Team Lufthansa) as VP Marketing & Sales and in this capacity jointly responsible for the restructuring of the activities. Apart from traditional sales and marketing activities, Claus Fischer was responsible for the franchise cooperation with Lufthansa and network planning.
In 1990 he started his career with Nürnberger Flugdienst (NFD) where he accompanied the merger with RFG as head of marketing and press spokesman. He was also responsible for the new market entry of Eurowings which was the result of the merger between NFD and RFG.
